We are a sports for development organization founded by young people to tackle the issues facing our fellow young people

Simama CBO is a non-profit, grassroots organization that uses sports to impart social and economic skills as well as promote peace, education, development, inclusion, better governance and accountability among the youth of Kariobangi Slum, Nairobi.

The CBO was founded in 2012 by young people born and raised in the slum, thus have hands-on understanding of the issues facing young people in Kariobangi and more so how best to provide local solutions for these local challenges.

We seek a world of hope, peace, social justice, inclusion and improved livelihoods for marginalized young people born and raised in the slums.

We believe in servant leadership and stewardship, human dignity, integrity, commitment, sincerity and volunteerism.

Leagues
We run four junior leagues launched in 2012: U16, U14 and U11 boys as well as U14 girls. The leagues run under the banner “Scoring For Safe Neighbourhoods”.

Each league has 20 teams drawn from the urban slums of Kariobangi, Korogocho, Babadogo, Eastleigh, Dandora, Huruma & Mathare.

Community Coaches Trained
We equip the youth with the leadership and technical skills they need to officiate the league matches and/or manage the teams.
